Customer and Subscriber Data

GLDS provides business support, operational support, customer management, billing, provisioning, customer self-care, field service, customer communications, artificial intelligence, and related software and services to broadband service providers and other customers.

As part of providing those services, GLDS may process information concerning our customers’ subscribers, employees, contractors, and other users.

In these circumstances, the GLDS customer generally determines the purposes for which the information is processed, and GLDS processes the information on the customer’s behalf and in accordance with our contractual obligations.

If you are a subscriber or customer of a broadband provider that uses GLDS software and have a question or request concerning information maintained by that provider, you should generally contact your broadband provider directly. GLDS will assist its customers with privacy requests as required by applicable law and our contractual obligations.

This Website Privacy Policy is not intended to replace the privacy notice of the broadband provider or other organization with which you have a direct relationship.

Legal Bases for Processing Information in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), UK GDPR, or similar law applies, GLDS processes personal information under one or more lawful bases, depending on the circumstances.

These may include:

Consent: For example, where consent is required for non-essential cookies, analytics technologies, or certain marketing communications.

Legitimate Interests: We may process information when reasonably necessary for legitimate business purposes, including managing business relationships, responding to inquiries, conducting appropriate business-to-business sales and marketing, improving our website and services, maintaining security, and administering our business, provided those interests are not overridden by the individual’s rights and interests.

Legal Obligations: We may process information when necessary to comply with applicable legal or regulatory requirements.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.

International Data Transfers

GLDS is based in the United States, and information collected through our website may be processed or stored in the United States or other countries in which GLDS or its service providers operate.

Privacy and data protection laws in those countries may differ from the laws in your country.

Where applicable law requires protections for international transfers of personal information, GLDS uses appropriate contractual, organizational, or other lawful safeguards for those transfers.

Data Retention

GLDS retains personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including maintaining business relationships, responding to inquiries, administering customer and prospective customer records, fulfilling contractual obligations, complying with legal and accounting requirements, resolving disputes, and protecting GLDS’s legal interests.

The appropriate retention period depends on factors including:

  • The nature of the information;
  • The purpose for which it was collected;
  • The nature and duration of our relationship with the individual or organization;
  • Applicable contractual requirements;
  • Legal and regulatory obligations; and
  • Applicable limitation periods.

No website, electronic transmission, or information storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to or maintained by GLDS.
