GLDS Opens European Office
CARLSBAD, Calif. – March 31, 2009 – Great Lakes Data Systems (GLDS) has announced the opening of a European office in Kaunas, Lithuania. The new office is managed by Senior Software Engineer Paulius Pazera, who joined GLDS in 1998.
“We now have development teams working around the clock,” according to Lon Rosado, President of Great Lakes Data Systems. “This allows us to solve problems for customers and bring new products to market even more quickly.” New programming, support, and engineering staff members have also been added to the company’s Carlsbad, California office.
GLDS has supported remote employees from its offices in California and Wisconsin for several years, but this marks the first international presence for the 30-year old software company.
During the past twelve months, GLDS has launched more than two dozen new customer installations, adding new operators in the U.S., Canada, Dominica, Kenya, and Guatemala. The company’s billing and provisioning software can be localized for virtually any language requirements, and technical support is available in both English and Spanish.
The new office has already begun to pay off for operators who use the BroadHub and SuperController applications developed by GLDS. “We’ve been able to hand off work from the California office to our guys in Europe and have a solution delivered before our customers even wake up in the morning,” said Garrick Russell, V.P. of Operations. “With software installations spread across the globe, it made a lot of sense for GLDS to expand internationally.”
