GLDS Teams with ADTRAN for Billing & Subscriber Management for Broadband Service Providers

Integrates GLDS BroadHub Billing Software with ADTRAN’s AOE and Total Access 5000 – Troy Cable First to Deploy

TAMPA, (FTTH 2013 Conference & Expo) – Sept. 30, 2013 – Great Lakes Data Systems, Inc. (GLDS), the leading provider of billing, subscriber management and provisioning systems for small-to-medium global broadband providers, today announced it has completed integration between its BroadHub® subscriber management and billing system and ADTRAN’s AOE Management System and the Total Access 5000 Multi-Service Access Platform. The combined solution is being deployed for Troy Cable, a FTTH provider operating in five cities in Alabama, and will offer complete service delivery control of voice, video and data services, directly from the billing system. ADTRAN’s Total Access 5000 provides gigabit access GPON technology for the solution.

With the new billing system integration, GLDS will minimize revenue loss significantly and ensure better customer satisfaction. Direct provisioning, which the billing system provides, will allow operators to manage ‘triple-play’ service delivery more efficiently, eliminating the need for multiple disparate systems. This will allow operators to manage their Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) network without any additional mediation or provisioning layers.

Commenting on the relationship, ADTRAN’s Director of Marketing Kevin Morgan said, “ADTRAN is very pleased to have integrated with the GLDS BroadHub billing system. Automation is the key to operational efficiency and savings for our customers. ADTRAN developed AOE, or Advanced Operational Environment, with automation and ease of integration in mind. We look forward to exploring additional customer opportunities with GLDS.”

“Given the importance of FTTX within traditional and new video markets, and the significance of ADTRAN’s products and solutions in both, we understood the importance of completing this integration,” said GLDS’ President Garrick Russell. “A popular choice among FTTH providers, GLDS invests considerable resources to ensure we provide our customers with efficient, costs effective ways of managing fiber-based service delivery.”

With proven interfaces with more than 70 partner companies across all service verticals, GLDS provides small to medium-sized operators with tier-one functionality at much lower prices than its tier-one competitors. Solutions from GLDS include both stand-alone and cloud-based billing, subscriber management, field management and provisioning software.
